Labour ComplianceThe Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on September 14, 2026, issued the Directions for Improving File Disposal and Accountability.

The following has been stated:

• The ESIC Director General has issued pan-ESIC directions to improve responsiveness and accountability in official work. E-office files should normally be processed through not more than four levels/channels, with each office establishing an appropriate four-level submission structure. All pending receipts, matters, and unresolved e-files are to be cleared by September 30, 2026, with a compliance report on remaining pendency as of October 1, 2026.

• From October 1, 2026, any FR/e-file/indent/bill/proposal pending with an official for more than 3 working days shall be reported when sought, and unjustified delays may result in adverse remarks/APAR entries. Officials from IC/MC level to dealing hand shall also designate link officers to handle files during leave or tour to prevent pendency. Progress will be reviewed on a bi-monthly basis, alongside development of an APAR-linked capacity-building programme for ESIC officials.
